Music and The Arts are integral to our holistic approach to learning at Southern Cross Catholic College. A dedicated Arts and Hospitality Centre is on campus and will provides state of the art facility for our students.

All students from Prep to Year 8 participate in curriculum based primary and secondary Music, Drama and Visual Arts classes.

In 2020, we established our Music Immersion Program for our Year 4 students where they learn one instrument per semester. Students are then encouraged to choose one instrument of interest to them to continue to learn throughout their time at Southern Cross Catholic College.

Music is a popular elective from Year 9. The college boasts a comprehensive Instrumental Program that offers tuition in Strings, Piano, Woodwind, Guitar, Brass, Percussion, Voice and Contemporary Voice.

Students are encouraged to realise their music potential through performing with the college String Orchestra, Concert Band, Guitar Ensemble and Choirs.

Lead by experienced and dedicated teachers, our students enjoy Drama and Visual Arts classes that support a packed curriculum at Southern Cross Catholic College. Musical productions and events such as “Arts Under the Stars” and bi-annual Musicals (including "Mulan" and "Wizard of Oz") give our students the opportunity to explore the world of performance and grow in confidence within their artistic abilities.

Enrolments for Instrumental Music 2023 are now open.
