The Southern Cross Way guides us in our everyday actions to live out the College motto. It steers us to understand what it looks, feels and sounds like to Love, Serve and Shine.

At Southern Cross Catholic College, everything we do is anchored in our Catholic faith and grounded in Christ. Our Marian Charism inspires us to live with compassion, courage and justice, ensuring that the lived example of Mary brings us closer to Jesus.

Our College Mission calls us to provide a quality education that empowers each young person to Love, to Serve and to Shine. This commitment shapes not only what we teach, but how we live together as a community of faith, hope and service.

The Southern Cross Way provides the everyday language of our Catholic identity. It helps us understand what it looks, feels and sounds like to live out our motto in classrooms, on the sporting field, in the arts, and in our wider community. It is a guide that forms character, builds relationships, and strengthens the culture of inclusion and belonging at SCCC.

In partnership with our families and parish, we are building a rich Catholic identity that shines through liturgy, prayer, service and action. Our Catholic faith is not just celebrated in formal moments of worship but is lived in the way we treat one another, care for creation, and serve those in need.

At SCCC, our Sacramental Program supports students and families as they journey through the key milestones of faith—Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation. In partnership with our parish, we nurture students’ spiritual growth and understanding, ensuring each child feels guided and supported as they deepen their relationship with God. These moments are celebrated as a whole community, reflecting our commitment to living and sharing our Catholic faith.

Catholic Education Week is a highlight of the year at SCCC, bringing our community together in prayer, celebration, and service. Throughout the week, students engage in liturgies, activities, and outreach that reflect the theme of the year. It is a time to honour our Catholic identity, showcase the gifts of our students, and celebrate the role SCCC plays in shaping lives of faith, learning, and leadership within our Townsville Diocese.

Chapel Mass is a treasured part of life at SCCC, giving our families a  regular opportunity to gather in prayer, scripture, and reflection. Celebrated weekly in our College Chapel, these liturgies connect us as a faith community and deepen our relationship with God. Through reflection, prayer, and active participation, students, teachers and families embrace the beauty of Catholic tradition and the joy of worshipping together as one community of faith.
